Samish Bivalve Bash

Sure wish we had a Bivalve Muddy Run here with the extensive oyster beds around Willapa Bay.

The annual fun time happens up at the Taylor Shellfish Farms in Bow, Washington. The famous 'mud' run in the muck starts the festivities which include an oyster shell art contest, yummy food, kids games, beer garden, dancing, music and oysters, oysters, oysters.

My kind of fun.

Here is the link to the event details.

No crab eating vampires here.

It seems 'thousands' of crabs washed up ashore north of our area - on Shi Shi Beach. This is the area where the Twilight vampires and werewolfs live.

After the tribal chairman of the Makah Tribe investigated, he assured everyone they are just part of the normal molting process of crabs.

Not dead, just molting. No crab eating vampires here. (photos: King 5 and US News)

Man rescued from cliff near North Head Lighthouse - The Daily Astorian: (original story link)

ASTORIA, Ore. - The Coast Guard rescued an injured man from a cliff near North Head Lighthouse near Ilwaco, Wash., Thursday.

Coast Guard Sector Columbia River in Astoria received a request for assistance from the Pacific County Fire Department at 5:22 p.m. after it was determined the man's injuries would make it difficult for cliff rescue personnel to retrieve him. The 34-year-old man from Selah, Wash., was fishing from the rocks with friends and fell while climbing back to shore.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew was dispatched to the scene where a rescue swimmer was deployed to the cliff face. The man was then taken to Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment in Ilwaco where emergency service personnel were waiting to transport him to Ocean Beach Hospital in Ilwaco.

Concannon House 1894

Many of the homes in Seaview are this style. Back when Stout first sold the 50x 100 lots- vacationers either built simple cabins or put tents on their plot.
