Rod Run to the End of the World
The sound of the engines drown out the ocean waves. For 3 days we hear cars. Blissfully, the middle of Saturday is quiet- since all are at the Beach Barron Show Grounds up near Moby Dick in Ocean Park.
The early arrivers come Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday- every piece of real estate (vacant or occupied) along Highway 103 becomes an impromptu show ground or a stadium to hang around (beer in hand) and wave at the cars parading up the local highway. This scene repeats itself the entire 12 miles up to Ocean Park.
Brett and I took his 59 Ford to view some action. We also noticed this vintage 'Sheriff' vehicle camping at the Sou'wester next door.
Fall is here
I have been soooo busy and have many posts to catch up on.The pumpkins arrived just as the Tourists left - yeah for pumpkins! I love Fall!

Aura's new car
We are keeping our insurance agent busy! Aura purchased a car this week. She went to Bruce Smith Autos in Seaside- where Madison had also purchased his rig.
Christmas in stores- and it is only the first of September!
Our home is on the Christmas Home Tour this year- and I can't believe I only have 12 weeks to be ready. yikes!
Paris' new car
Paris got a nice new (to her) car. It should last thru her final year at Northern Michigan and into Podiatry School. She started the 'senior year blog' which can be seen at:Paris Senior Year
Final Labor Day photos with girls
Here are the
McKenzie and Brooke were very excited to see their Mom and the dog- Molly. I think Molly was a nervous wreck with the girls gone- wondering what became of them. She chewed a 'hot spot' and Kimberly had to get medication and a collar for her. Once she got to our house, our cat made her life even more miserable... so poor Molly was chewing down to the bone! Molly's own cats at home are friendly and cuddly with her.
We had plenty of seafood... crab, oysters, clams. The next day we made oysters rockefeller.
Kimberly has called to report that school is good and the girls are back in their routine.
