Jazz Night at The Depot

The Depot reopened this weekend- after a short vacation.

WSRP Meeting in Tukwila

This weekend, the Wa State Republican Party held it's meeting in Tukwila. Each county has the County Chair (that's me) and Committeeman and Committeewoman represent them to elect leadership for the next 2 years. (39 counties)

Senator Luke Esser was elected State Chair! Olga Miller from Lewis County was elected Vice Chair. Brett went with me- he had our Committeeman's proxy vote.

Vegas Airport

The flight home was delayed (due to Chicago weather). There are no chairs in Vegas- unless you are in front of a slot machine or sitting at a gaming table.

Like the Portland Airport, Las Vegas has free wireless and Aura enjoyed messenging (on her pink laptop) with Stephanie in Thailand- catching up and planning her trip to visit Thailand in March.

Aura went off to New York the next night. You can read her adventures on her blog- Speedbump.

Venice

Brett and I had stayed at The Venetian in July of 1999. It was brand new then and still under construction. There is even more construction going on- but all the shops are open and the place is packed with people!

still more shopping

We made whirlwind visits to Treasure Island, The Luxor and did more shopping at the Desert Passage in the Aladdin. WAIT, yes- even more shopping at Mandalay Place between the Mandalay Bay and The Luxor.

Zumanity at New York New York

We went to see Zumanity at New York New York.
It is a Cirque du Soleil show- but a bit more Vegas style.

(note- the snack/wine bar had the most marvelous truffle salt popcorn)

Shopping at Fashion Show Mall

Aura was in heaven- shopping. Yes, they have fashion shows at Fashion Show Mall. The day we were there- the Miss America Pageant took the stage. (They are having the pageant at the Aladdin this next week.)

A quick trip to Paris

Las Vegas style

Sahara

I wanted Aura to see Morocco- so we hopped on the monorail and went southbound to the end.... then walked back. Back in the day- the Sahara's version of Morocco was pretty cool. Now it is run down and tired. All of the Moorish gardens have been ripped up and new construction is set to begin on time share condos and new hotels/casinos.
